Spirit Halloween Horror Babies Are Your Perfect New Family
“Children can be such monsters,” reads the poster for “Abigail,” the vampire movie ruined by a misguided marketing campaign. So it’s true, most children are not vampires – at least outwardly. Still, if you ask many adults – especially those who have not yet become parents – raising babies can be, to put it gently, a complex task. Now and then, there are horror movies that show this fear, where the “sweet” children turn out to be murderous creatures. Sometimes the devil or some other demon enters them, and in other cases, they show supernatural powers, turn into zombies, eat their parents, and so on.
As a horror fan, you may have wondered what the most violent icons of the horror world were like when they were kids. Although sometimes we get the answer in the framework of the background story we got during the films, and although the villains of horror were not always really like that, there are probably cases where you could distinguish evil since childhood.
Horror product giant “Spirit Halloween” has taken it a few steps further with super cool baby versions of the scary icons we grew up with. Let’s meet up the family of Spirit Halloween Horror Babies, which is very likely to grow someday soon.
Meet Spirit Halloween Horror Babies Collection
In recent years, Spirit Halloween has resurrected several horror babies. Under this category, we find a collection of static figurines, or props, presenting the most iconic villains from horror movies as sweet but disturbing babies. They have a large part of the identification marks that we know from their adult and evil versions, as well as an innocent and childish dimension. This combination, or should we say contradiction, makes them an amusing and quite impressive addition to any home or office.
Note that unlike other horror products, such as action figures, the scary babies are mainly for display. These are collector’s items, officially licensed by the relevant brands, and you can aspire to own all of them since there are not so many of them (at least, at this moment). Another fascinating fact is that they come at a reasonable price and make up a collection (admittedly limited, for now) that horror fans can assemble. Although each figure has unique characteristics, they are mostly made of foam with latex filling, and come to a height of about 35 cm.
Which Horror Babies Dolls Were Born Till Now?
Currently, the Spirit Halloween horror babies family numbers six icons. During 2023, the company “gave birth” to four first babies, who are, of course, one of the main characters in horror cinema in recent decades: Pennywise (“It”), Leatherface (“The Texas Chainsaw Massacre”), Ghostface (“Scream”) and Sam (“Trick r Treat”). This year, Michael Myers (“Halloween”) and Art the Clown (“Terrifier” movies) also joined the collection. In other words, other scary babies are just happy to be born, like Freddy Krueger, Chucky, or Pinhead, and we really wouldn’t be surprised if it happened in the following years.
These are the babies in the Spirit Halloween family as of now. We will, of course, be happy to update the list with every new character that comes out in the coming years:
Pennywise Horror Baby
If there is anyone suitable to be in a baby version, it must be Pennywise, the dancing clown from Stephen King’s books, which later became a television miniseries in the 90s starring Tim Curry, and in the 2000s two breaking record films in which the Swedish actor Bill Skarsgård steps into Pennywise’s shoes.
The appearance of the baby version of Pennywise is reminiscent of that of the recent “It” movies, with a few twists. Here, you will find the famous orange hair, the yellow eyes (with traces of blood), and the “Joker” makeup. Pennywise Horror Babies are dressed in clothes we can recognize from the movies, with cuffs, ornaments, and red pom-poms. They are holding Georgie’s boat cause babies like to play with boats.
Ghostface Horror Baby
Ghostface, the killer’s character from the “Scream” movies, is a little different from most horror icons – and, of course, the babies based on them too. The reason is that, unlike other icons who keep the same character, more or less, here it is mainly a “disguise”, behind which hides between one and three killers in each film. Nevertheless, Ghostface’s “character” is one of the most prominent in horror cinema in recent decades, so it is not surprising that we will also see it in the current review.
Ghostface Horror Baby includes the familiar characteristics of the character, especially the black robe, the white gloves, and the Ghostface mask, which corresponds (among other things) to Edvard Munch’s famous painting, “The Scream.” The figure includes childlike markings, including in the mask itself, and holds a knife covered in blood.
Leatherface Horror Baby
“Leatherface” is another iconic killer who drew some inspiration from the serial killer Ed Gein (who, shockingly, used to wear human skin). The famous character comes in the childish version with some familiar signs, especially the yellow overalls (with blood stains… and a tie!), a mask made of human skin, and the characteristic hammer, also with blood stains.
Nevertheless, the character keeps its innocent appearance in the current version.
Sam Horror Baby
Sam, the mysterious character from “Trick ‘r Treat,” has only appeared in one horror movie so far, but there has been talk of a sequel for years, and there is a good chance that it will finally happen in the coming years.
In Sam Horror Babies, the demon who punishes people for not keeping the holiday feasts comes with the familiar look of a burlap sack with button eyes on his head and orange pajamas with a “pumpkin” hue, which is very suitable for Halloween.
Sam is holding his signature lollipop, which looks cute and scary at the same time.
Michael Myers Horror Baby
We continue the review with Michael Myers, the serial killer who loves babysitting (among other things) from the “Halloween” movie series. In Spirit Halloween’s retake, he is shown as a baby with familiar features, such as the William Shatner mask, the blue jumpsuit, and the black shoes. He is, of course, holding a knife, and trails of blood are coming out of his eyes.
From our impressions, the Michael Myers horror baby is a bit more mature and less “babyish” than most other players, but we still liked the overall look.
Art The Clown Horror Baby
Art the Clown from the “Terrifier” franchise (and several short films made by Damon Leona before that) is the newest character on this list, almost certainly on his way to becoming a horror icon. In our opinion, this tiny Spirit Halloween prop is one of the better ones in the current category. Art is shown here as a crawling baby, with his scary black and white Clown clothes in the same color, and the super cute yellow sunflower glasses from the superb “Terrifier 2”.
In conclusion, the Spirit Halloween Horror Babies Collection offers a refreshing new way to connect with our favorite horror characters, with a cute twist on every scale. Whether you are an avid collector of horror merchandise, love these movies, or are simply looking for a unique gift, this collection offers something for everyone. With attention to detail and the perfect balance between horror and cuteness, horror baby dolls can be a beauty to buy.
