Parque Warner Madrid Will Let Your Enter A Movie, But Is It Scary?
As a horror movie fan, the term “Warner Bros.” must mean something to you. The American film production company is responsible for some of the most notable horrors of our favorite genre in recent decades, such as “A Nightmare on Elm Street,” “The Conjuring,” “It,” “Orphan,” “Final Destination,” and many more. When you add that to the fact that Warner Bros. has several theme parks worldwide, the question immediately arises: how scary are they, and how do they represent the world of horror?
The good news is that the Parque Warner Madrid meets these requirements. Although you will find more affluent and modern parks throughout Europe and other areas of the globe, this park has enough attractions to fill an entire day and satisfy lovers of adrenaline-filled parks and attractions based on horror in its various forms.
Here is a comprehensive overview of the Parque Warner in Madrid, from its uniqueness to technical information to the attractions you must mark on your visit plan.
About Parque Warner Madrid
The Warner Bros. Park Madrid (Previously Warner Bros. Movie World Madrid or Warner Bros. Park Madrid) is located in San Martín de la Vega, about 23 kilometers from the Spanish capital. The park opened in 2002 and was operated by several local companies. Until 2004, for example, the operator was the well-known Six Flags amusement park chain.
Warner Park Madrid covers is divided into several main areas, each designed based on iconic Warner Bros. films and characters. Note that the rides in the different park areas are divided into three possible levels of difficulty:
- Intense (red) – challenging for a relatively older audience
- Moderate (orange) – medium, for an intermediate audience
- Soft (green) – easy for the younger crowd
The Main Thematic Areas Of Warner Park Madrid
Hollywood Boulevard
The entrance area contains streets inspired by classic Hollywood and statues and names of stars all over. Note that the emphasis here is solely on characters from the world of cinema and not the broader world of entertainment.
There are no rides on Hollywood Boulevard, but you will find a well-restored Chinese theater, restaurants, and shops of various kinds.
Cartoon Village
The Cartoon Village is a thematic area designed mainly for children, where you can meet beloved characters such as the stars of the Looney Tunes and other popular shows, including Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Tweety and Sylvester, Taz, Tom and JeScooby-Dooy Doo, and more.
This area offers about 20 light and entertaining rides, suitable for a young audience, in the likes of:
- Scooby Doo’s Adventure – a lovely attraction where you travel slowly on a train and shoot monsters as part of an attempt to solve the mystery of the “Green Ghost“
- Full Speed Ahead! – A pirate ship for the little ones
- Tweety and Sylvester Bus Ride – A “ride” on Tweety and Sylvester’s floating bus, a kind of Ferris wheel that will allow you to overlook the park
- ACME Rapids – In this super fun ride, you will sail in a tube (up to nine people) on a river between waterfalls and cartoon characters who will shoot water at you. An adult must accompany children under 105 cm tall
- Tom & Jerry Picnic in the Park – A charming roller coaster for a young audience. On the track around it, you will find giant picnic products
- Roadrunner Beep Beep – A roller coaster for children, which is, in fact, suitable for children from 100 cm tall (up to 130 cm tall, adult accompaniment is required). A fast and quite fun ride in a desert setting
- Daffy Duck Wacky Races – Colliding cars where the children can drive alone
- Scooby Doo’s Tea Party Mystery – A carousel of rotating cups
- I Have Seen a Cute Kitten – This ride, with a somehow disturbing name, is a carousel of airplanes inspired by Tom and Jerry
Along with the attractions, you will find in the Cartoon Village shops and restaurants inspired by the world of Warner Bros. cartoons we learned to love over the years.
Old West Territory
As you can conclude by its name, this area inspired by the Wild West will take you into a world of Westerns. There are some very awesome rides in Old West Territory:
- The Mine Carts – a fast roller coaster that simulates a ride in an old mine, and what’s cool is that the carts change their angle as if they were out of control in the heart of a mine. The Minimum height for this ride is 120 cm.
- Wild Falls – In the Wild Falls ride, you will board a large boat (about 20 people) and descend quickly in a free fall that won’t leave you dry.
- Rio Bravo – Another wet ride inspired by Howard Hawks’ famous 1959 Western “Rio Bravo.” It includes a relaxed ride in a recreated setting of a gold mine and a village from the Wild West, alongside fast drops and twists. The “Rio Bravo” is a slightly gentler (and lower) version of the “Wild Falls.”
- Coaster Express – The Coaster Express is a wooden roller coaster, about 1,250 meters long, making it the longest of its kind in Europe. In Coaster Express, you will reach speeds of up to 95 km/h and a height of about 45 meters during a rather scary ride (the installation belongs to the Intense category). They say that about 1,200 visitors can ride the installation per hour, which is one of the most sought-after installations in the park. Minimum height: 121 cm
The Warren Files: Passage Of Terror (Expedientes Warren: Pasaje Del Terror)
The Warner Madrid theme park’s highlight is from the perspective of many horror fans. In the Passage of Terror, you can travel through settings and characters from the wide world of horror from Warner Brothers, with the “plot” being the investigations of the couple Ed and Lorraine Warren, the supernatural investigators we know, of course, from the expansive and super thriving cinematic universe of “The Conjuring.”
During a visit to the maze (about 10 minutes), which looks like a location from a horror movie, you will meet classic horror characters such as Freddy Krueger from the “Nightmare on Elm Street” films, Jason Voorhees from “Friday the 13th” and familiar characters from the “Conjuring” films, such as the Annabelle doll, the Nun and so on. The attraction includes puppets, lighting and sound effects, actors, and various scares.
Here is a short video that describes a visit to the horror passage. Just like horror movies, we recommend taking a look to get a general impression but not to focus too much (for the simple reason that you may get “spoilers”).
DC Super Heroes World
It is a complex dedicated to superheroes from the wider DC comic world, such as Superman, Batman, Robin, the Joker, Harley Quinn, and others. The main streets and locations from comic book movies, such as Metropolis, Gotham City, and the entrance to the Daily Planet newspaper, inspire the design of this area.
What rides are at Warner Bros Madrid from the DC Universe?
- Superman Steel Attraction – Maybe the park’s most sought-after and terrifying roller coaster. In Super Steel Attraction, you can “fly” almost like Superman, at a speed of more than 100 km/h, with seven inversions and several free falls, including one from a height of about 55 meters. Suitable from a height of 132 cm
- Shadows of Arkham – “Shadows of Arkham” will take you to the “psychiatric hospital for the criminally insane” or simply the prison for the most dangerous people. The scary roller coaster, over 500 meters long, includes a fast ride (say, a maximum speed of 83 kilometers per hour in 40 seconds), five inversions, and a few fast falls, the first from a height of about 31 meters. You ride it with your feet hanging out of the vehicle. Minimum height: 132 cm
- Lex Luthor Invitation – A genuinely terrifying “top spin” ride inspired by Superman’s archenemy. Minimum height: 140 cm
- Batman Gotham City Escape – One of the new rides in the park, opened in 2023). According to park officials, this is a multi-launch-roller coaster, the only one of its kind in Europe. It features three launches during a 111-second adrenaline-fueled ride, with a top speed of 104 kilometers per hour, a maximum height of 45 meters, and four loops. From a height of 130 cm
- The Revenge of the Enigma – a free-fall facility where you will rise to a height of about 100 meters (which provides an impressive panoramic view of the park) and fall vertically at a speed of 80 kilometers per hour. Suitable from a height of 132 cm
Movie World Studios
An immersive complex that provides you with the opportunity to learn how the film industry works and “live inside a movie.” There are several immersive shows, such as the stunt and action Police Academy Show or the musical “The Wizard of Oz: A New Generation,” with the best songs from classic Hollywood works.
If you are looking for rides, the world of movie studios offers you:
Stunt Fall
The “stunt roller coaster” includes a fast ride, up to 115 kilometers per hour and a height of about 65 meters, six inversions, and a “boomerang” effect, meaning that part of the ride is forward and backward, in reverse. Along with the jolts of the track, there are effects along the track (explosions, for example) that are reminiscent of a classic Hollywood action movie. Suitable from a height of 137 cm.
Hotel Embrujado
The “Haunted Hotel” is an installation that is very suitable for fans of horror films and ghosts. In Hotel Embrujado Madrid, you will enter a hotel with “ghosts,” optical illusions, and effects inspired by classic horror stories, and in this case, a fairy tale about a love story gone wrong. The visit is made while sitting in a kind of elevator, which rotates and goes up and down to create the impression that your room is spinning.
Cinema Tour
A calm panoramic train, which is excellent for children (from a minimum height of 120 cm). The Cinema Tour train will take you in a vintage car in a setting that simulates 1930s California.
Parque Warner Madrid At Halloween
Halloween is a holiday for horror fans, and the Warner Bros. Park in Madrid aligns with this. Every year, the park offers a unique and different program in honor of the holiday, with a scary Gothic decor that decorates the park, creepy statues, horror characters from the vast catalog, music that accompanies visitors, effects (such as fog and smoke), shows and other attractions.
In recent years, we have seen, for example, horror mazes based on iconic characters, such as those from “The Conjuring” films, the Mexican legend of The Weeping Woman La Llorona (who was also part of the same cinematic universe), Freddy Krueger and more. For example, we saw a Wild West-style horror show, a dance show starring monsters, and a march with dancers, live music, and horror characters in the show section.
The children can enjoy other attractions in the holiday spirit, such as a creative activity of coloring and decorating a pumpkin (as we know, the undisputed symbol of the holiday), a “Trick or Treat” tour where they collected candy and met lovable characters from Warner Bros. cartoons, or visited a haunted house with various scares, adapted to children and more gentle.
If you are coming to Madrid next year around Christmas, we advise you to find out what will be expected this time in the Warner Parque Halloween program.
Helpful Information About Parque Warner In Madrid
Park Warner Opening Hours
The park’s opening hours vary depending on the season, so we recommend finding out what is happening on the date of your visit.
Generally, during the busier summer (June-September), the park is usually open from 10:30 am to 10:00 pm.
During the transitional seasons (spring and autumn), the opening hours are shorter, and the park usually closes at 8:00 pm.
During some parts of the winter, the park is closed; on other days, the opening days and hours may be more limited.
We recommend checking the official calendar on the park’s website before visiting to avoid surprises and disappointments.
Warner Park Madrid Tickets
The park offers several types of tickets:
🎫 Daily Ticket – suitable for a single entry on a specific day. The average price ranges from around 30 to 50 euros, depending on how you book and when
🎫 Two-day Ticket – suitable for those who want to explore the park thoroughly, because in one day you will most likely not be able to visit all the facilities
🎫 Season Ticket – a ticket that allows free entry throughout the year, suitable for those who plan to visit many times. It is less relevant for tourists coming to Madrid for a specific visit
🎫 Combined Ticket – includes entry to Warner Bros. Park and the adjacent water park, Warner Bitch Park, which is mainly suitable for little ones with wave pools, wet play facilities, and more. The visit to the parks is on two consecutive days
🎫 Fast Pass – a ticket that allows you to skip the lines at the main rides for an additional fee of around 15–20 euros. The fast pass is helpful for those who want to get the most out of the park or come during busy times such as weekends and holidays, when the lines for the most popular facilities may be long. A key advantage is that, unlike other similar tickets in some parks around the world, here you can get on a facility more than once
Why You Should Order Tickets In Advance?
It is highly recommended, and even mandatory, to book tickets in advance. Box office prices tend to be several dozen percent higher than if you book online in advance. In addition, a pre-booked ticket can save you the queue at the park’s entrance box office and even guarantee your visit. The number of tickets at the box office or through the official website is limited, especially during the busy summer months. Getting to the park and finding out you can’t get in would be a shame.
If you buy a ticket through the park’s official website, you will find that, unfortunately, it is impossible to cancel or change them. Therefore, we recommend, especially in a sensitive period like the current one, buying a ticket with the option of changing or even canceling without additional charge up to 24 hours before the chosen visit date to the park. This can save you money in cases of delays and also contribute to your peace of mind.

You can find more information about how to get there on the park’s official website.
Essential Tips Before Visiting
- Don’t forget to bring some spare clothes, because you may get quite wet in some facilities.
- It is possible and recommended that you download the park app, which makes navigating within it easier and allows you to see what the queues are. In the app, you will find the desired park map, which you can also get traditionally from paper.
- Try to find out if there is a special event on the date of your visit, such as the Halloween program we mentioned earlier
- If you are arriving for more than one day, you can find out about a hotel that will prevent you from returning to Madrid or the area where you are at the end of the day. There are some very friendly hotels within a short distance of the park.
In conclusion, you can see that Warner Park in Madrid is an attraction that is very suitable for different types of travelers, including families or horror fans. Of course, there are more significant and more impressive parks in Europe, but thanks to some prosperous areas and many facilities, it is worth spending at least one busy day here.
