Ferrari World Abu Dhabi Will Raise Your Fear Of Speed
The Italian car manufacturer Ferrari needs no introduction. The company, known primarily for its sports and racing cars, is synonymous with speed, luxury, and style. The good news is that in tourism, you don’t have to be a millionaire to drive a Ferrari or at least ride (fast and scary) attractions inspired by one of the world’s most famous brands. Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, located on Yas Island in the United Arab Emirates, offers many rides and experiences for all ages. But is it also scary, meaning it has a place on our website?
When Speed Talks: What Is Ferrari World Abu Dhabi?
Ferrari Park in Abu Dhabi (not to be confused with Ferrari Land in Barcelona, part of PortAventura Park, or the Ferrari Museum in Modena, Italy) is an adrenaline-filled park dedicated to the manufacturer that has primarily changed the racing world.
Ferrari World Abu Dhabi opened in November 2010 with the intention of combining the world of Ferrari cars with the experiences you can find in theme parks. The park, the first of its kind by Ferrari, is also the largest indoor theme park in the world, with an area of about 86 dunams.
The luxurious design of the park is inspired by the Italian brand, with the highlight being a vast roof that simulates the shape of one of the most famous Ferrari models in the world, the Ferrari GT. The design combines modern elements with classic Italian motifs. In other words, the spirit and tradition of Ferrari, along with the luxury and prestige that characterize Duba.
What Is There In Ferrari World Abu Dhabi?
Ferrari Park Abu Dhabi offers about 40 attractions, which explains why it has been crowned the best theme park in the Middle East for eight consecutive years and counting.
The park has several main areas, which introduce visitors to the wide world of Ferrari and its various derivatives:
The Ferrari Welcome Plaza
The Welcome Plaza is where, after entering, you will probably say “wow” in front of this park’s impressive design and dynamism.
In the park’s entrance plaza, you will find:
🏎️ Reception area
🏎️ Restaurants
🏎️ Two Ferrari stores where you can buy souvenirs, fashion items, jewelry, accessories and more
🏎️ Live performances
🏎️ Various entertainment activities for the whole family
🏎️ and more
Racing Zone – Meet The Fastest Roller Coaster In The World
According to many, the highlight of a visit to the park is the Formula 1 Racing Zone. In this zone, you will find Formula Rossa, the fastest roller coaster in the world. This may not surprise you, as we are discussing a Ferrari park in the United Arab Emirates, a federation that turns spectacular into a mission.
The Formula Rossa reaches an incredible max speed of 240 kilometers per hour and its top speed in just 4.9 seconds. It takes about two seconds to go from zero to 100 kilometers per hour. In other words, it is probably the closest you can get to driving a Ferrari. It is also scarier than driving a Ferrari, as you are expected to feel 4.8Gs.
Here is a short video (POV) that will allow you to experience, perhaps, the speed of the Formula Rossa roller coaster:
Other rides on The Racing Zone are:
🏎️ Junior Grand Prix – a karting track for children, of course, in vehicles that resemble Ferrari models
🏎️ Benno’s Great Race – an interactive driving facility with various effects
🏎️ Nello’s Adventureland – offers a playground for children (Nello’s Adventureland), an impressive display of Ferrari vehicles, and more
🏎️ Junior Training Camp – a climbing and ropes course
🏎️ Viaggio in Italia – a simulator that will take you on a journey through Italy, inspired by the Mille Miglia open-road endurance race in Italy between the 1920s and the 1950s. It is considered the first flying theatre you can find on the east side of the Hemisphere
The Italian Zone
The Italian Zone of Ferrari Park will take you, at top speed, to the country where the brand was born. The Flying Aces roller coaster is one of the park’s most notable attractions. It opened in 2016 and holds several significant records. It reaches a height of about 63 meters and descends at a speed of about 120 kilometers per hour, but the highlight is that the train includes the highest loop (without inversion) in the world. You will also find a breathtaking 51-degree incline here.
The Flying Aces roller coaster is dedicated to Francesco Baracca, the Italian top pilot in World War I. Baracca was the “champion of the downings”: the fighter pilot responsible for the most destroying enemy targets in the war, with 34 aerial victories recorded.
In the Italian Zone, you will also find the Fiorano GT Challenge, an exciting facility where two parallel roller coasters simulate a race between two Ferrari cars. On the more relaxed “Bella Italia” track, you’ll drive a car along a track that simulates “Mini Italy,” with various scaled-down models of familiar buildings, towns, and race tracks.
Family Zone
The Family Zone of Ferrari World Abu Dhabi is a complex where families can spend a few hours, or even a whole day, with great activities and rides for the young fellas. Some of the rides are more petite and friendlier versions of prominent rides here, such as Formula Rossa Junior, which reaches a speed of “only” 45 kilometers per hour and is intended for children from 90 centimeters tall.
The Ferrari World Abu Dhabi Family Zone also includes:
🏎️ Turbo Towers – A drop tower where children will climb 13.5 meters and free fall. For children 105 cm tall and above
🏎️ Flying Wings – a floating carousel, a smaller version of the Flying Aces attraction. Intended for children from 105 cm tall
🏎️ Tyre Twist – a “spinning cups”-style attraction, with the twist being that the family (up to five people) sits in spinning tires
🏎️ Karting Academy – a 290-meter-long karting track
🏎️ Fairground games
🏎️ and more
Here is a super viral video (about 18 million views on Youtube!) on the super viral Kids Diana Show channel (about 126 million subscribers!) that shows some of the experiences of children at Ferrari Park:
Adventure Zone
You will find the Esports Arena in the adventure zone, with a wide range of GT and Formula 1 simulators that will bring you closer to the real thing. There are 20 simulators here – 14 for adults and 6 for children – where you can spend hours of fun.
The Turbo Track will take you to a “race in the sky,” where you will climb to a height of about 63 meters in a vertical climb and descend from there backward at a speed of about 102 kilometers, in an almost wholly vertical way that simulates zero gravity. Another interesting attraction is the Tyre Change Experience, where you can try changing tires on Ferrari cars in a race against the clock.
Driving A Ferrari
Ferrari Park allows visitors to drive a real Ferrari car for about half an hour around Yas Island. You can choose whether to drive or sit beside a professional driver.
The driving should not be cheap, as you can conclude from the combination between Dubai and Ferrari. As of the time of writing, prices are 895 dirhams per person, with an additional passenger in the car costing an extra 120 dirhams. If you want to sit next to a professional driver, the price is slightly cheaper and is 595 dirhams. The experience, in any case, includes still and video photography.
You must order the Ferrari driving experience on the park’s website in advance.

How Much Time Needed For Ferrari World Abu Dhabi?
In our opinion, 4-6 hours may be enough for you to explore the park. If you want to experience it from bottom to top, you can give it one day from your probably demanding Abu Dhabi schedule.
It is advisable to devote at least half a day to the place and not combine another water park or amusement park on the same day. Although you are coming to the Ferrari complex, we recommend avoiding 24-hour races against the clock or “marathons” between rides.
You can always be flexible and see how you and the other visitors enjoy the park.
Hotels That Will Give You Free Park Entry
If you are staying at one of the hotels on Yas Island, you can get a pass to the parks throughout the island, sometimes with certain conditions. For example, some hotels provide entry for all guests in the best case, as opposed to entry only for those staying in one of the rooms that grant the right or for a minimum number of days).
The main principle is that each night in the hotel, you will usually receive entry to one of the parks on Yas Island for each guest staying in your room, which can reduce your stay in Abu Dhabi by thousands of shekels per family.
The leading hotels that offer this privilege, as of the time of writing:
🏨 The luxurious five-star Warner Brothers Hotel (The WB Abu Dhabi)
🏨 The five-star Hilton Yas Island
🏨 The five-star W Abu Dhabi, which offers free park admission in some of its rooms. The advantage for Formula 1 fans is that the hotel is right next to the UAE race track
🏨 The four-star Radisson Blu Hotel, offers some guests (depending on the room type) free park admission
🏨 The more modest three-star Park Inn, some of whose rooms offer free tickets
